Many people's morning routines consist of coffee and children.....mine consists of Cheerios and my dog! Every morning at about 6:10, Brett gets out of bed and begins getting ready for work. 5 minutes later, Stoops is up in his spot.....head on his pillow and fast asleep. I truly believe that she lies in her bed waiting to hear Brett's feet hit the floor, and then as soon as she is in the bathroom and the coast is clear she makes her move for his spot. From about 6:15 until 7 or so, Stoops and I sleep together. 7am is time for us to get up and ready tackle the day. First stop is out the back door so Stoops can take care of business. This can take anywhere from 1-10 minutes. On days when the weather is either cold or rainy, she is in and out the door in less than a minute. However, lately she has decided to take her sweet time finding the right spot and making sure that no other animals have invaded her home since the previous night. She sniffs every piece of grass, shrub and flower before making her way back in the house. From there we grab a cup of food, fill her dish and I get in the shower. After I get out of the shower, Stoops is back in Brett's spot sleeping and her food dish is still full. Next come my Cheerios.....every morning I have a bowl of Cheerios and Stoops sits at my feet waiting until I am finished because she knows she gets the milk left in my bowl. Once she has successfully licked every last drop of milk in the bowl she proceeds to her bowl to eat her breakfast. As I continue to get ready, Stoops climbs back on the bed to catch another quick nap before I kick her off to make the bed. The bed gets made, pillows back where they belong and everything looks tidy. I turn my back to brush my teeth or finish getting ready, and Stoops is back on the bed sleeping! Finally, I am ready, sitting on the ottoman putting my shoes on and Stoops knows I am leaving for work and she is going in her crate. Before I am finished putting my shoes on and grabbing my things, she is in the laundry room, lying peacefully in her crate waiting for me to close the door.
I love her and love our morning routine! It makes for an enjoyable morning!!
